Forest Primary Care Centre
Paul took on responsibility for delivery of this large primary care centre from detail design stage through to site delivery.
The 3,800m2 building provides new accommodation for 4 local GP surgeries as well as a large number of support spaces including; nurse examination, minor surgery suite, dentist, pharmacy, phlebotomy, baby clinics, family planning, leg ulcer clinic, speech and language therapy, drug and alcohol services, health visitors' offices and a café as well as providing rooms available for local community groups.
Two parallel wings of accommodation are arranged on either side of an attractive and welcoming day-lit reception area.
The waiting area includes views onto a landscaped internal courtyard and, though the building is large, opportunities for natural light and ventilation are maximised.
The completed scheme was a shortlisted finalist for the Building Better Healthcare award and images of it were used to illustrate good practice in CABE’s report on LIFT procured healthcare buildings.
